Deadliest Catch Star Dies, Justin Tennison at 33

Just found out another reality star has died.

Justin Tennison, was a deckhand and engineer on the Time Bandit for the 2010 Opilio and King crab seasons. He was scheduled to make his first appearance in April when the show picks up again.
I just heard about Justin. He was found dead in a hotel room in Homer, Alaska at the Best Western Bidarka Inn by hotel staff Tuesday Feb 22, 2010.

Eddie Uwekoolani, also a deckhand on the Time Bandit, and Justins' second cousin. Eddie said he saw Justin on Monday night. “That evening, he came down to the boat about 10 o’clock, and I had one drink with him and took off to my house with my grandson and son, and next morning called to find out if he was coming to work. I never got a hold of him. I texted him. I just thought he didn’t make it to work… The manager said they found Justin nonresponsive on the bed, not breathing, so she called the cops and they came down.”

Authorities reportedly found a small amount of marijuana and alcohol in the room. Cops believe there had been a party the night before. An autopsy was scheduled for Feb 23, but I have been unable to find out any results, which leads me to believe they are waiting on tox screens. That can take a while in some places.

Justin is survived by a son and daughter.

Captain Andy Hillstrand posted on his Facebook page that Justin had served as an engineer aboard the fishing boat during the off seasons -- and just joined the crew as a deckhand a few months ago for the crab season.

The official Time Bandit website said. Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year.

Rest in peace Justin.

Update 07/26/2011: For those of you looking for Justin's autopsy report or how he died, Captain Andy Hillstrand said on After The Catch that Justin died from sleep apnea.
