Update - USCG Healy And Renda Near Nome - Deadliest Catch

They are getting close. This article says this is the first time ever they have attempted to supply fuel to and Arctic Alaskan Settlement through sea ice.

It also explains their plans on how to get the fuel on land once they get there and why flying the fuel in wasn't a good option.

USCG Healy Escorting Russian Tanker To Nome Alaska

The USCG to the rescue again!  The USCG cutter Healy which is an ice breaker is escorting the Russian Tanker Renda to Nome. The Renda is carrying 1.3 million gallons of fuel. They are cutting through what sounds like some serious ice.

I hope they get there soon for the sake of the people in Nome.
