Deadliest Catch After The Catch Episode 4 Recap

"Gamblers"

Elliott Neese is at the table with Mike Rowe. Great! Rolling eyes and sarcasm. Enough with Elliott already. Mike Rowe tells Elliott he was trying to remember the other captains their first year on the show. Elliott says last year was hard because it was his first year as captain and with cameras in his face. Mike asks what changed? Last year he was telling the cameras a lot to get out of the wheelhouse. What changed? Are you finding your way? Elliott said he got to see the show last year and see what actually comes of all the filming. It's pretty cool to see yourself on TV. Mike says it seems like a new level of personal stuff with you. Why did you let us in? Elliott explains that that's what is going on in his life right now.

He needs to call the Coast Guard. He asks Chris are you with me? How many fingers am I holding up? He holds up two fingers. Chris says four. It looks like they are in the fore peak and Chris is on the floor. Captain Keith says alright I'm calling the Coast Guard. He runs to the wheel house, picks up the mic takes several deep breaths and calls the Coast Guard.

For those of you who missed the post with the Coast Guard call in November, here it is again. Coast Guard Call

Deadliest Catch Season 8 Episode 5 Recap

"Alien Abduction"

Captain Keith is picking up the new greenhorn Chris from the airport. Monte has told him this is the best looking young kid he saw all summer. Chris tells Captain Keith he has never been on a boat, an airplane or been fishing. He is probably going to make an idiot of himself real quick. Chris' words.

On the Ramblin' Rose. Elliott is still getting low numbers and the crew is still battling the weather. Not a good sign for this episode when it starts out with Elliott.

Deadliest Catch Season 8 Episode 2

"Turf War"

Captain Sig Hansen on the Northwestern says with the lesser quota the chance of finding crab and staying on them right away are minimal.

Captain Bill Wichrowski on the Kodiak says there is some speculation that there might not be a crab season the next couple of years. So this might be the last King Crab for him.

Captain Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand are headed to the Red Crab grounds.

Captain Scott Campbell, Jr says last year they caught 180,000 pounds. This year they are going for 300,000. Junior was the top performer of the four boats that fished Blue King Crab last year. He pulls his first pot, it has about a quarter of the pot full. He has 44 crabs which by Blue Crab standards is a stuffed pot.

Elliott Neese - Deadliest Catch - Cited Possession Undersized Crab

As some of you Deadliest Catch Fans may already know. I am not an Elliott Neese fan.

I've been watching the ships on the Marine Traffic and knew the Ramblin' Rose was still fishing or at least pulling in and out of port at Dutch Harbor throughout December.  I figured they were having a really bad season, maybe fishing for Blue King Crab or both. Most of the other crews have been home quite some time now.

Deadliest Catch Season 7 Episode 16 Recap "Season Finale"

"Mohawks & Madness, Goodness & Gladness"

This is so exciting and sad all of the same time. It’s about seven in the morning and I’m just getting to watch the show now, but I can tell from the hits to the blog already that something good must have happened. I wish I could’ve stayed awake to watch the show with all of you on Twitter, but my body just wouldn’t cooperate.

It’s sad because the season’s over and now we have to wait until April again for a new episode.

For those of you who seen the picture of Captain Johnathan's black eye, yes the rumors are flying. For those of you who didn't here's a picture of Johnathan Hillstrand with his new tiki cut and black eye.

They did a pretty good job of hiding his shiner on After The Catch I just thought he had a puffy eye.

Deadliest Catch CatchCon 2011 Seattle, WA - Fan Festival Report

Two of the main reporters were Tary Southern and Matt McManus.

There were games, relay races, a beer garden and loads of fans from all over. There were fans from New Zealand, South Carolina and Arizona all over the place.

No I didn’t get to go to the Fan Festival, but I sure wished I could have. I did have some issues with my internet connection and Discovery was having some streaming issues, so I didn’t catch everything, but I still managed to gather a lot of exciting information. There are a couple baby spoilers but nothing really big, so it’s safe to read. This article is pretty long but there were tons of things going on. It was an all day event after all.

Oh, the things I learned.
